Your 2025 gym benefit explained

In 2025, all BCBSRI Medicare Advantage plans will offer a $0 gym membership, $0 home fitness accessories, $0 digital fitness classes, and more through our new fitness provider, FitOn Health.

With FitOn, you can choose from more gyms, studios, and community centers next year compared to this year.

How it works

You will be issued credits each month. Credits can be used for gym memberships, fitness classes, or other services offered by FitOn Health. Credits are paid for by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island at no additional cost.  Each month, you’ll get a set number of credits added to your account. You can then use those credits to pay for your fitness experiences. You will receive a new set of credits on the 1st of every month.

Two networks: Preferred and Flex

Preferred network

The FitOn Preferred network consists of 13,000+ gyms, studios, and community facilities across the country. Many of your favorite gyms—including select Anytime Fitness, Healthtrax, and YMCA locations—are in the FitOn Preferred network.

FitOn is adding new gyms frequently, so the Preferred network will keep growing before benefits start on January 1, 2025.

Flex network

We know how important your favorite gym is to your health and happiness. So you can also take advantage of FitOn Flex network.

Through the Flex network, you can join any facility that accepts a credit card. This gives you access to even more non-traditional fitness locations, boutiques, and studios.

Your monthly credits can be converted to dollars through a digital payment card and applied toward your membership at popular places like Planet Fitness, for example.

Once converted, your gym membership fees are billed to the digital payment card until you cancel. FitOn can assist you with this process beginning January 1, 2025.

What about my gym?

For members actively using a gym through Silver&Fit:

In mid-December, FitOn will send you instructions that will help you avoid any interruption in your current gym membership and other fitness benefits. Check your mailbox and email for these FitOn communications.

In the meantime, you can look up your gym on the FitOn website. The map ONLY includes locations in the Preferred network—so even if you don't see your gym listed, you can still use your benefit there if they accept credit cards.

FitOn is adding new gyms frequently, so you will see changes and additions to this map.
